Been a scratch baker for a longgggg time (as taught by my mother!) but making pretty things has never been my strongest suit. I did my best with the piping bag today for her! Definitely not perfect but she loved it!

that’s so sweet and i’m sure she loved it! i’ve been baking lots of banana bread and tried a carrot cake recently which turned out better than expected despite my messy frosting skills… love the king arthur recipe too, it’s a classic for a reason. happy birthday to your mom!

to improve spend more time practicing with the pastry bag ..that’s where many amateurs fuck up …to many do a couple test dots and just go for it …
practice and then map out just how you’re going to do the letters and designs , muscle memory is your friend here ..pros have hundreds /thousands of hours doing it ..it takes practice. Lots of practice ..or just be happy and enjoy the cake.
