Tonight we’re making some country fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes. Let’s do this. You’re going to need two dishes. These are two different pie dishes that I’m going to use for my dry and my wet mixture. My dry mixture I’m going to add in a little bit of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, little bit of kinders, the blend, as well as a little bit of Kinder allpurpose seasoning cuz I am a kinder hoe. Mix this up really good. Now for our wet bowl, we’re going to add two eggs and a little bit of milk. You can use 2% whole or buttermilk. Don’t use skim. Give this a good mix. These are four cube steaks. You already know I seasoned them with kinders the blend. We’re going to start out with our dry. We’re just going to put them in here and, you know, sprinkle the flour. Try not to get it everywhere. Get it well coated. Then transfer it to the wet and then transfer it back to the flour one last time. I’ve got this pan preheating with some oil in it. And we are going to shallow fry these cube steaks. And just repeat the process. This is why I love wearing gloves during this cuz you can just take it off with clean hands. I’m going to cook these country fried steaks for about five minutes on each side, then give them a flip. All right, these country fried steaks are done. I’m gonna pull them off of the heat. All right, I got rid of most of the frying oil. Now, I’m going to add in a little bit of butter. Once the butter’s done melting, we’re going to add three heaping tablespoons of flour. Whisk this around long enough for the raw flour taste to cook out. Now, for our mashed potatoes, it’s Monday night. I know good and well you didn’t think I was making homemade mashed potatoes on Monday night. Okay. All right. The raw flour taste is cooked out of this. Now, I’m going to slowly add in a little bit of milk. Altogether, it was probably about two cups of milk. We’re going to season this up with a little bit of garlic powder and some freshly cracked pepper. All right, our microwavable mashed potatoes are done. I am going to dole this up with a little bit of sour cream and kinders the blend cuz which I’ll expect anything left. And a little bit of KBY Jack cheese cuz there ain’t no such thing as too much cheese. Okay, and give this a good mix. All right, our loaded mashed potatoes are done. And that’s about it, y’all. This country fried steak and gravy is done. How easy was that? All right, y’all. Go make you some of this country fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes. But if you’re going to be rude, eat crap

  1. When I was checking out Kinders spices @ Walmart today, for some reason, I said …"because I am a Kinder's HooOOooo". Usually, I just hear your voice saying it, but this time I was distracted looking at all the choices. I turned around and some guy was right behind me. Not sure if he smiled just b'cas people are friendly, or if he thought I was nutz. Damn you AmateurChef!! 😆 ~ps.. Dinner looks AWESOME tonight!

  2. This is one of my go-to comfort meals lol. I do use those prepackaged potato flakes but instead of milk that it calls for I add just straight sour cream with the hot water LOL. Whenever cube steak is on sale I buy a bunch of it and keep it in my freezer. It is my favorite

  3. Bruh, that looks excellent. It's been awhile since I made this and there is no way I'm doing it on a Monday no matter how much the wife and kids bitch 😄

  4. Mash potatoes takes no time at all and you didn’t even tenderize that cube steak you need to beat them down so they can be fork tender

  5. The injury one. I had spinal fusion surgery back in 2016. Going the full length of my spine. From the base of my neck down to my tailbone. I’m on disability and have a limited income and my husband pays the majority of the bills and I pay the electric and both our phone bills and the internet. At Thanksgiving in 2024 we had traveled to my sister in laws house for the holiday. We got there Tuesday late in the day. And Wednesday we had many things to do before the big day. So I got up early in the morning to take a shower so we could commence with getting ready for all the family coming over. Well … I stepped in the shower and had just finished shampooing and was tilting back my head to rinse my hair. And my feet went out from under me. And I fell I tried to save myself by turning my body. It was a corner stall shower. I had one foot under me and the other twisted off to the side. I was soapy and hurt and scared. I hollered out for my husband to come help me luckily he hadn’t gone upstairs yet when it happened. He came running into the bathroom and turned off the water and helped me turn a bit onto my side so he could place a towel under me so I could have some traction to get myself up enough so I could crawl out of the shower. My sister in law came down the stairs to see what was taking my husband so long to come upstairs for breakfast. And she saw me buck naked with his arms under my armpits and me half being pulled up and me pulling my up. And this woman had the nerve to say well at least she wasn’t hurt to terrible bad she’s standing. My husband told her to just go upstairs we would be up shortly. He examined me with his eyes and feeling around to see if he could see any actual damage. He helped me get dressed because I was having HORRIBLE back pain and every muscle was spasming. We talked for a minute while I was getting dressed. And he looked over at me and he said I don’t even want to stay here even another hour much less the next 3 days. Let’s go. And so we each packed up and he helped me out to the truck. And his sister was mad we were leaving. We drove the 3 hours home. I was very sore and still upset over slipping in her shower and her acting like it was my problem. 3 days later I was actually feeling better. My back was still sore. But better so I stood and was washing dishes at the sink. And all of a sudden I was over come with horrible pain. And I finished washing the last couple plates and grabbed an ice pack and laid down. My husband came home and I explained what happened. I called my surgeon to and told him about the whole situation and he told me to go get a full Xray. Both sides of my fusion were broken in 2 spots. He told me I would have to have a 3rd surgery. But at least he could just replace the broken section and not open me up completely. The slip happened in November of 2024, the surgery was scheduled for March of 25, and in June of 25 I got a bill for the portion of the surgery that my insurance doesn’t cover. I tried working out a payment plan with the hospital. But they weren’t happy with what I said I could pay. So I called sister in law and she had the balls to tell me that I was full of shit and it doesn’t have anything to do with her. We are now in no contact with his sister and she is blaming me for getting hurt and I’m a horrible bitch for starting shit in the family.

  6. Oooo! I love country fried steak, but I'm allergic to wheat. I just made some amazing gf fried chicken last week, but it was exhausting! I decided it's a once a year kind of recipe, but I don't think the steaks would be so tiring for me. Thanks for the inspo!

  7. Ngl those mashed potatoes are delicious! I haven't had good country fried steaks in a long time! Going to try this recipe! Thank you!!

  8. The first time you said kinders, you said nothing about your kinders-ho-edness. And I was so scared. But then just seconds later, you set my mind at ease. Haha

  9. THAT is chicken fried steak. The difference between chicken fried steak and country fried steak is the gravy. White gravy for chicken fried and brown gravy for country fried. Don't ask me why, but that is how us Texans distinguish between the two.
