This is the only treatment you need against powdery mildew on #squash plants (or any other plant). Squash plants are very prone to leaf diseases especially #powderymildew . This fungus thrives on the surface of wet leaves and proliferates in my hot/humid #Florida garden. Spray with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect the leaves.

if you struggle with Leaf diseases with your squash plants there is one treatment that you need to know about a lot of squash and pumpkin plants have a natural silvery variegation like this Leaf right here this is normal and it’s not a leaf disease however squash plants are very prone to powdery mildew and this is what powdery mildew looks like this is a pretty bad one if you look at it it literally looks like powder and if you touch it or this Leaf Moves In The Wind It’ll like fluff up and Float around in the air my favorite treatment is one cup of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water and just spray the leaves it will clean and disinfect them this is the three percent hydrogen peroxide that you can easily find at any stores I buy mine in bulk from Sam’s Club

  1. I have been looking for solutions for my pumpkin they have powdery mildew. Thank you will try this.

  2. Thank you for this! I thought mine had powdery mildew but I see that the silvery color is natural. I have tried using diluted milk on the leaves.

  3. What time of day should I apply the concoction? I burned my leaves doing a baking soda and soap and distilled water because I was told to apply it in the morning. I had to hurry up and rinse the leaves. Caught it before more damage than what happened occurred

  4. I also mix a tea spoon of baking soda a couple drops of dish soap and a couple drops of vegetable oil spray every 3 day or as needed

  5. Thank you so much. I reside in Deltona, FL and can relate to the pest problem you mention. I have been using 1 tsp of hydrogen peroxide to 1 cup water for leaf spray and haven't been getting the results I've wanted. Now I see that my mixture was off. Lol

  6. What hose wnd sprayer do you use for spraying peroxide. I have 100 linear ft of trellis and all my melons and squash need to be sprayed. The pump sprayer is tedious when trying to fight powdery mildew!

Thanks for always havjng great content!

  7. Thank you my darling! My pumpkins have this right now and I didn’t know there was such an easy solution. Appreciate you!
