This is UK market pricing so YMMV and we don't have an abundance of scores in yet, only Antonio Galloni's underwhelming 92+. You should buy basically any other vintage.

2022 was a tough vintage mostly due to the the heat wave. I haven’t heard any first hand accounts of the pick at Opus but I imagine they were scrambling just like everyone else to get the fruit in. Choosing the ideal time to pick and having your hand forced by the weather can really throw a wrench in the plan. We may see at least a few wineries put out less than perfect wines(in their view ) because of this but the wines should at least be interesting. I’ve only had one 2022 so far, the 2022 Corison Napa Cab and it is superb. I believe they had everything picked already before the heat wave hit.
2019 and 2021 were outstanding in Napa IMO so stacking them up next to 2022 seems unfair. It’s not, but that’s also part of the fun in the variability of vintages. 92 isn’t exactly terrible as a score, but id also bet they’ll be fairly unpleased. Lol.
I honestly kind of feel like 92 points is generous!
I visited the winery not long ago for work and had the pleasure of drinking many vintages. The 2022 was, if I’m being frank, the most disappointing by far. I was genuinely shocked given the prestigious estate we were dealing with and that juxtaposition that was the 2021 vintage.
Some of my notes:
Overwhelmingly primary nose. Dark fruits, plum, strawberry jam, dark chocolate, and smoke with an intensity of alcohol that is almost along the lines of VA. Presents overly ripe and clearly from a hot vintage. Huge oak. Full-bodied, poorly integrated alcohol. Medium to long finish was the only redeeming character. Full, chalky tannins.
**I scored it 90-91/100**
What’s wine cap?
for a multitude of reasons, winery prices need to go down, distributor prices need to go down, retailers, and restaurants
