Giada De Laurentiis wants to dispel a spaghetti stigma.
The celebrity chef took to Instagram over the weekend to share a starchy hack.
“Did you know that pasta the next day is better for you?” the former Food Network personality started the clip posted on Friday, Aug. 29.
She continued, speaking while scooping cooked noodles into a storage container, “So when the pasta cools, the carbs turn into resistant starch, which is easier to digest, which means you have a lower blood sugar spike and it’s better for your gut. So leftover pasta for the win.”
The Giada in My Kitchen star frequently posts on social media, whether she is sharing recipes or her daughter, Jade, is critiquing old outfits.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, the author of the Super-Italian cookbook posted a video on Instagram addressing the longtime discussion about her pronunciation of Italian food.
“Honestly, I moved here in elementary school from Rome,” De Laurentiis explained. “I really didn’t speak any English and I flunked the first grade. I couldn’t practice at home because my parents insisted that we speak Italian”
“Everything was about Italian food and culture in my house, so when I started on Food Network, it didn’t occur to me to not pronounce those words correctly,” she said. “Also my family probably would’ve killed me if I hadn’t pronounced them the right way, the way they had taught me.”
De Laurentiis admitted she never expected her Italian accent to be a subject of discussion among viewers, saying, “It really surprised me, and it still surprises me, the emotion that it elicits out of people who watch my shows.”
