Christmas time, festive songs and wine…
With only 115 days to go until the big day, Magic Radio is officially declaring the festive season open with today’s launch of brand-new digital station – Magic Christmas.
Especially for those who bought their Christmas cards in the January sales, started their present shopping in June and have already planned and ordered their Christmas dinner – the station will be playing The Best Variety of Christmas Favourites.
Magic Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester:
‘Summer’s almost over and so for many people, the countdown to Christmas is on. That’s why we’ve unveiled our latest addition to the Magic Radio family. Magic is the home of Christmas on the radio and so we’ve launched the station for whenever you need your first festive hit.’
Every evening at 7pm and 10pm will be the Perfect Christmas Playlist, a specially curated hour of Christmas music every night from Magic Radio presenters. Listeners will also be treated to weekend festive specials from artists, including the King and Queen of Christmas – Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey – as well as John Legend, Cher, Gary Barlow, Will Young and Ball & Boe.
Later this year the pop-up station will also be the first place that Magic Radio listeners will be able to hear coverage of the Magic of Christmas andMagic West End Christmas events.
The two seasonal spectaculars will once again be returning to The London Palladium. Magic of Christmas, hosted this year by Magic Radio presenters Gok Wan, Harriet Scott and Gaby Roslin, will be bringing audience members all the festive feels with Christmas classics from the 80s to now on Sunday 16th November.
And after a successful launch last year, Magic’s West End Christmas is back on the evening of Saturday 15th November with songs from some of the most iconic and beloved musicals and, of course, a sprinkling of seasonal songs.
Magic Christmas is available online, on DAB and on the Rayo app.
