I came in for a show on Friday night, spent a little over 36 hours in your city, and fell so in love. I got to explore Parkdale, Kensington, and Roncesvalles and met the friendliest, most creative people along the way. Plus I ate some insane food.

A couple days ago I asked what we should eat for dinner, and got a ton of recs. We decided to do a mini dumpling tour, and hit Loga’s Corner, followed by Polanez.

At Loga’s Corner, my husband got Lamb and I got veg and I am beating myself up not trying to bring some of that hot sauce home. Both were outstanding in different ways: the lamb was strong and flavorful and the veg was fresh and texturally fun.

Then we wandered around a while to reset our appetites before heading over to Roncesvalles. At Polanez, we “built our own combos”—he got the Hunter’s Stew, pork mince pierogi and mushroom gołumpki, and I got potato and cheese pierogi and meat gołumpki. I’m not Polish but for some reason Polish food was always a staple in my extended family? Maybe because of the area of the US Midwest when I grew up. This brought me back to my childhood.

Finally, shout out to King Slice which we got on arrival and before the show. I didn’t know your pizza game, Toronto, but this was solid.

I say this every time I travel, but I’d totally move to Toronto based on just these 36 hours.

The Canadian government won’t give me the immigration points probably 🥲 and I wouldn’t have the cash for an apartment 🥲🥲🥲 but a girl can dream.

I can’t wait to come back, see more shows, visit more neighborhoods, and fall further in love with your beautiful, diverse, creative, friendly, delicious city!!

Loga’s hot sauce is superb. One of the best in the city.

The food scene in Toronto is top notch, you could make an entire trip out of just eating your way through every neighbourhood.

Great that you got to explore the west end. Next time you visit be sure to visit the Ossington strip and make your way to the core of the city to St. Lawrence market and then to the east end of Toronto for a totally different vibe and equally awesome food.

King Slice is the best but is never busy. Way better than Badiali’s, a block north on Dovercourt.

Every time I’m in Toronto, I never have plans for food and it always turns our amazing. There’s so much to eat, just going off vibes is the best.

Is it sad that I recognized King Slice instantly? I love this place and the staff.

I love reading this! I’m so glad you had so much fun! If it makes you feel better, I asked Loga about bringing the hot sauce from Toronto to Vancouver without refrigeration and he said it wouldn’t make it without being cold, so maybe that’s peace of mind ;))

Greektown on the Danforth for next time.

Downtown Chinatown has plenty of delicious options so you don’t need a car to head out to our suburban Chinatowns where the food is more similar to offerings if you were in Hong Kong.

Loga brings back delicious memories of the local streets in Katmandu, Nepal, where I savored mouthwatering buffalo momos.

When you say show do you mean mcr. If so i was there too! It was my first time in Toronto this weekend too but i unfortunately didn’t get to have amazing food. I settled for alot of the food along the way. I wish I thought about my choices especially after the $35 burger and fries from fanexpo. It was gross.
