I'd sliced some beef super thing, and decided to try tenderizing it with some blended pineapple, rather than the usual baking soda. It broke the beef down too much and turned into this.

Well, if I only look at the first pic it looks pretty tasty. Like a pot roast on rice.

The progress pics look nasty tho.

Not the most visually appealing but might be good depending on the seasoning… One small tip, I’d sear your carrots first, pull them out, tent them, and then add them back in once the beef is just about ready, get some color on them that way.

Also, pineapples have a ton of water. How you gonna get any browsing with that much water? You didn’t story dry the beef you boiled it it lol

Ugh, the more I scroll and zoom the worse this shit looks.

How was the flavour? Was it just pure beef?

Amorphous Slop would be a great name for a thrash-metal band

  7. Beef was cut for way too thin and you probably marinated the meat for too long whole not having high enough heat as well

Looks like after my dog eats too many carrots or sweet potatoes

  9. Aside from your ruined dinner, make a note of how hard/soft your veggies are compared to how long you cooked them so you learn to adjust your cooking. Cutting them down into match sticks helps if you’re only doing a quick cook like today. Only leave them chunky like that if you’re slow cooking them.

With stir frying in particular, chefs usually cook the meat until almost done and remove it. Then cook down the veg to desired doneness before re-adding the almost done meat to finish.

Whenever I eat pineapple, I like to imagine it doing this to my insides.

The bacteria that tenderizes meat in pineapple is also found in honey.

  12. Ground Beef? if so wrong type, you need to use like beef skirts or chuck diced into cubes

People finding out the hard way what marinating or using fresh pineapple on meat does. This also happens every Thanksgiving

When you use baking soda, do you have any trick to avoid having that metallic aftertaste? My mom says to only put baking soda to tenderize it, then rinse and then marinade.

I don’t like the rinsing part, and was wondering if there is a trick to avoid the after taste, baking soda really makes it nice and tender. I tried corn starch to velvet it, but I don’t want to thicken the sauce.

The first pic looks eatable, I’ve done worst.

I have also once made the mistake of turning my shredded pork into soup. Was trying to make pastor and had the “brilliant” idea to add in pineapple juice as well as finely diced pineapple into the shredded pork itself. Shit turned into soup in like 30 minutes lol

I need my= carrots to be really soft, so I’d be giving the first pic another 30 min before putting it on rice. Looks nice, though.

Is that a pic post-digestion or is that before you ate it?

Too much liquid and not high enough heat
