Thanks to a bunch of posts up here I grabbed a Recteq Deck Boss 800 from Ace hardware today.
I am not what you would call a grill master and bounced back and forth from this or a Komado for a long time.
Finally pulled the trigger.
This was the first thing I ever cooked on it. 3 big old thick steaks from the local butcher.
Texted hardwood pellets. Added a bit of the local butcher’s steak rub, cooked on 225 till 115 internal temp on the probes. Then seared on my blackstone for 3 min a side with just the slightest bit of olive oil to make sure they didn’t stick. That got them to about 130 internal. Let sit for 10 min.
OMG! Literally amazing. So tender. Super juicy. Could cut the slices in my plate with my fork.
This was too dam easy for this quality of food!
Can’t forget the quick Kroger waffle fries. 😆
Next up I think I am going to do some wings or a big roast.

Almost every steak you have from now on will never compare to how you cook them. I do it this way and it’s phenomenal
Congrats on newly being a guy
It’s not a toy, that’s a part of the family!
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see some more finished products pics. 🙂
looking good! little jelly
Looks great. You poor bastard. You’ll be chasing this deliciousness the rest of your life. You only get one life changing cook and you wasted it too soon. Thoughts and prayers.
Congrats man! Enjoy your new toy!
Try them with smoke tubes if you want a little more smoke flavor
