The shrimp were crunchy as all hell, the sauce tasted like lard and the green was only there to make it not look totally decrepit

I could never handle running a restaurant. The shame of serving this to a customer would be unbearable.

  3. SupermarketFit2158

honestly not even that bad, its a beach restaurant obviously its going to be overpriced

  4. rdstarling

well you are at the beach, you could have used it as bait 🤣

It’s a beach restaurant rents etc will be insane. The amount of them that come and go is evidence money is tight. It is what it is. No excuse for it tasting like shite mind.

Presentation is shit, but shrimp is pricey and is usually overpriced at a beach front restaurant. If the shrimp was dry, I would’ve sent it back…. Or not… Depends on how drunk I am.

Groß! Looks like shrimp with creampie topping

  8. Why eat beachfront if you balk at beachfront pricing?

  9. Anybuddyelse

I’m so fuckin done with the sauce paintings

  10. Ricaaado

That plate looks like the tiles used in my shower (the sellers built it that way, not me)

  11. Tronkfool

It could be worse. It could have been 4 shrimp and no white splat sauce thing in a mason jar.

how did it taste? I’ve paid £10 for starters I didn’t like, happily pay the extra 5 if it’s delicious

  13. Pink_Neons

Not saying they aren’t fresh, but there’s a good chance they’re frozen. Which a 1lb bag of around 25 shrimps costs $9 or €7.5 ish lol

  14. Rev-Dr-Slimeass

Considering what the plate looks like, you should have expected us. The further from a plate you get the more expensive the food

  15. x_asperger

Honestly not much worse than normal at that price in a place like the beach

Those look like 16/20 shrimp. Wholesale for those currently is $7.40/ pound. You have 5 on the plate. $.46 a shrimp it will cost the restaurant. So $2.30 a plate. Want to run 23 percent food cost. So the plate with no garnish should run about $10.00. Garnishes on plate probally cost $1.50 to be safe. Total cost should be $16.50 for 23 percent food cost to cover mis fires and mistakes. This is USD. Those shrimp are not fresh but frozen from a warehouse. Fair price. Blame the world and inflation not the restaurant trying to survive.

Source I’m a purchaser for a corporation with multiple concepts and restaurants.

I live in a resort town. My immediate thought was hmm not as bad as it could be

I hate these plates so much, got served an apple pie with cream that started running on the table immediately on one of those. It’s almost as if there is a reason why plates have borders.

Lol I knew this was the Netherlands. Food is absurdly expensive anyways, but those beach restaurants are just pure scam.

  20. catninjaambush

I can see how white the knuckles of your clenched hand are.

  21. Sevage420

i can see 2,44€ on the plate, where is the rest?

  22. PM_ME_UR__SECRETS

Smearing condiments on the plate is one of the stupidest “fancy plating” trends.

  23. DepravedDreg

One time at Cheesecaje factory, I got some kind of combo meal and chose shrimp scampi as a side. They gave me 2 fucking shrimp

  24. Nothingbutsocks

Which is always why I ask the amount of X when I order in restaurants with high prices.

How many “wings/shrimp”, or per pound. I fucking hate surprises and I definitely don’t love over paying for shit I can do at home.

  25. AFatiguedFey

I thought this was a meme.
    OMGz those people are scammers

  26. Rndysasqatch

$3 a shrimp?! Wow , Plus smeared mayo, awesome

  27. Restart_from_Zero

My number one rule for determining if a place is good or shit: do they give you a plate.

No, an old bucket, artistically deconstructed shoe, piece of driftwood or similar do not count.

  28. piercedmfootonaspike

I’m not saying it’s a fair price, but it’s absolutely a normal price.

  29. cherry_dreamsss

For 15€ I’d eat the plate too 🍽️
