An Italian restaurant has pushed back its opening “due to unforeseen delays”. Bello Italia will occupy the premise in previously used by Cow Shed Sports Bar & Grill on Broadway, Bebington, in what is promised to be “exciting new chapter”.
The sports bar offered all-day dining, from breakfasts and evening grills, where customers could watch every football game live on big screens. Last month, Cow Shed took to Facebook to tell its followers that they had “important news” to share.
In a statement, the venue said: “It is with mixed emotions that we share some important news with you. This Sunday will be our final day of service at The Cow Shed Bar & Grill.
“After so many wonderful memories, meals, and moments together, we will be closing our doors to make way for something new.
“But this is not goodbye—it’s the start of an exciting new chapter. We are thrilled to announce that we will soon be reopening as Bello Italia, bringing you a fresh and authentic Italian dining experience.
“From all of us at The Cow Shed, thank you for your support, laughter, and loyalty over the years. We look forward to welcoming you back soon to enjoy a taste of Italy with us.”

Bello Italia’s opening date was scheduled for Monday, September 8. An update from the venue states the opening has been delayed and thanks customers for their patience.
The statement reads: “Dear customers, due to unforeseen delays, our grand opening has been rescheduled. We will now officially open our doors on September 16.
“We can’t wait to welcome you and share authentic Italian flavours with you very soon. Thank you for your patience and support – it will be worth the wait.

“Stay tuned for more updates and we look forward to celebrating with you on the 16th.” The owners behind Bello Italia also run The Blind Cow on Town Lane in Bebington, which they confirmed will change its offerings to a café for breakfast and lunch service only.
A statement reads: “We want to thank everyone who has joined us for dinner over the months — your support has meant the world to us. Moving forward, The Blind Cow will be open as a café for breakfast and lunch service only, opening from 8.30am – 4pm.
“Going forward we are altering our business plan so that blind cow will be our breakfast and lunch spot and Bello Italia, our sister restaurant will be where we will hold our evenings.”
