Got this traeger that hasn’t been used for years from a family member. It’s been covered, but hasn’t been cleaned in forever. Can I use a degreaser on the inside of this thing? And should I remove all these pellets which are years old or just smoke them till they’re gone? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!
If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!
*What seasoning did you use?
*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?
*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?
Traeger on!

That thing already looks clean as hell. Definitely take the old pellets out
I would wipe it down with a dry rag and vacuum all of the dust and ash out of it. If that doesn’t get it clean enough use a mild water based cleaner. Then there is the question of does it even work? It doesn’t look like the pellets got wet so they’re probably ok to use for testing it. If it does work and the aroma of the smoke seems right you could probably use those pellets for cooking. Although, I’d probably dump them and use new pellets just because.
I think im going to just smoke these pellets with nothing in it
