This year's event was pretty alright, crowd control was amazing, barley any crowding and lines went fast. But the vendors need some serious work, there needs to be at least 5-7 more next year with more food options.

I will make a separate post about what I ate and how much I spent.

  1. Went yesterday. Found all the vendors from out of state odd since last year it was all local places iirc. I only ate at local places with the exception of the momofuku stand in the chase sapphire lounge which was phenomenal. We had a good time though so hopefully they do it again next year. Motorshucker and Galit were standouts for me this year.

  2. Lotus of Siam is so good! We would do a work team dinner at the original off-strip location in a crappy strip mall next to a massage parlor.

Thanks for posting all the menus with prices!

Will be a good measure of inflation next year since I’m sure the data coming out will be like “2% target achieved! Mission accomplished!” Meanwhile the sundaes will increase to $19

  4. Update: Someone reached out about a hot dog print!!! I can’t believe my luck, Chicago is the best ❤️ If anyone still has prints they don’t want, same offer applies! Thank you so much.

Hi! I also found the vendor list interesting, but overall enjoyed the event. As an aside, did anyone happen to get a Chicago hot dog mini art print from the quarter machine at the Big Night pop-up near the stage? I collect from that artist and attended this weekend, but I wasn’t able to get one! If someone did and doesn’t want it please DM me and I’ll pay you for it!

The chase lounge was awesome. You could get a giant rib for free if you asked. Free drink token and they were passing around free bites.

There was also a tequila bar making little mini mixed drinks for free not in the lounge. Weather was great did spot hero for parking.

Amazing dancers on Saturday as well. Overall everyone made it seem like it was a lame influencer event but there were lots of kids and free stuff to enjoy.

How is this event? I wrote off food festivals probably 10 years ago because it’s less than perfect smaller versions of what you’d get at the restaurant and long lines. Is this still the experience of food festivals?

Was the event free to the public? No break on those restaurant prices

I had SO much fun at EEEEEATSCON yesterday! I’ve been wanting to try the Kanin ube banana pudding all summer, and it did not disappoint!

The Chase lounge was also a nice experience.

I know all the logos being in that same color doesn’t help but I really feel like all restaurant logos are one of three fonts these days. Boba, Kiki, or vaguely cowboy

Did you guys get any cool souvenirs or anything of the sorts?

This was a fun fest. I enjoyed the food I tried. And was satisfied with the freebies

Is there a Lotus of Siam in Chicago??

Thanks for sharing. I know items are usually pricier at fests, but did you feel you got decent value for what you paid?

Thanks for the review! I was interested but decided to go taco fest in Southport instead! I’m gonna try next year!

Anyone else disappointed about the bagels from Holey Dough? I tried the sesame bagel and scallion cream cheese and it seemed underbaked. I really wanted to like it but it honestly didn’t wow me at all and I don’t really understand the hype around it. On top of that, on the eatscon website, they said they were charging $4 for a bagel and cream cheese but on Sunday, they raised the price to $6 I’m assuming because they know they’ll sell out so they wanted to make more money. You can tell cause the price on the board was handwritten and it looked different from the other restaurants.

Did anyone happen to get the Chicago Style Hotdog mini print at the vending machine? I’m a collector who wasn’t able to attend and as a Chicago native I NEED this one IYKYK.
