Total fail. Cooked on the longer side of what was suggested and meat was still raw in the middle. Flavor was mid (although salad dressing was AMAZING). Don’t think I’ll make this one again. Worried my family will have food poisoning. All the pitas looked raw inside after first bites. 🤢

    It seems after the fact like it would have been better to cook just the filling in the pan and bake just the pitas in the oven for a few minutes, then put the filling in the pitas

    I made this tonight and actually really enjoyed it. The meat was awkward to cook in the pita but turned out just fine. My meat thermometer came in handy for this one.

    I had the same experience. It ended up talking 15 minutes. That’s as far off as I’ve ever been from instructions.

    We had it last night. It really bothered my wife that it was pink on the inside. She ended up microwaving the whole thing for 45 seconds to finish.
    It was a mild flavor and I liked it enough. But don’t intend to have it again.

    Wait am I understanding this correctly? The filling is cooked in the pan AFTER it’s been put in the pita? That sounds very strange to me but I’ve never made anything Lebanese maybe that’s a common way of doing it?
