One of the hottest spots in Poughkeepsie right now is Eastdale Village.
The growing town has everything you could ask for from retail clothing stores like Freddy B’s to salons and some of the best dining in Dutchess County.
Rossi’s, Pizzeria Posto, Eastdale Bagels, Tomo Asian Fusion and others delicious restaurants line the Poughkeepsie hotspot.
However, one favorite is closing up shop after only a year in service.
Athena 2 Go Closes Eastdale Location in Poughkeepsie
In September 2024, an account called Athena 2 Go was created on Instagram. Quickly, Hudson Valley foodies were intrigued. It seemed as though the popular Greek restaurant Athena in LaGrange was getting a new locations.
After further research we learned Athene was set to open a smaller location for quick bites to eat and pick up orders in Eastdale Village.
By October 2024 Athena 2 Go was in business and ready to serve the Hudson Valley some of their most popular Greek dishes.
Sadly, the time has come for Athena 2 Go to close their doors. After only a year in business the small cottage location in Poughkeepsie has closed. On Facebook Eastdale explained that after Labor Day 2025 Athene 2 Go would be closed for good.
Thankfully, this doesn’t affect their original location. Athena in LaGrange is still open serving up the best Mediterranean cuisine in Dutchess County.
What Will Replace Athena 2 Go at Eastdale?
Luckily the little cottage on the corner at Eastdale Village wont be empty for long.
As Athena 2 Go closes up shop, a new restaurant is already slated to make Eastdale it’s new home.
According to a Facebook post from Eastdale Village “in just a few short weeks, the Cottage will reopen with El Jalapeño, bringing bold flavors and tasty drinks to the village.”
From the looks of it, El Jalapeno will bring authentic Spanish cuisine to Eastdale Village with mouthwatering dishes and margaritas to die for.
