I purchased a Marcato Atlas 150 Wellness last week off Amazon to give as a birthday gift. It looked like the picture Amazon has and I didn’t really question it. Then I read that there are knock-offs made cheaper, feel cheaper, breaking down and having failing parts, aluminum shavings from grinding gears getting into their pasta, etc…

So how can you tell the one you have is genuine or not? From pictures it looks like there are different versions? On the [Marcato website it shows a picture](https://i.imgur.com/0gdYDFc.png) of the one Amazon shows.

I read this [other thread about a potential fake](https://www.reddit.com/r/pasta/comments/gsqui7/is_my_machine_a_fake/) and mine looks exactly like this but my date stamp is 07/2020. Looking on the Crate&Barrel and Bed Bath and Beyond websites it looks completely different:

[C&B](https://i.imgur.com/0UcLWGl.png) and [BBB](https://i.imgur.com/hX31uc4.png) look completely different from amazons.

[Even watching a video from 2014 clearly shows the one from C&B/BBB page.](https://i.imgur.com/UaYYF9e.png)

* There’s a version where their logo and brand aren’t laser etched but an actual emblem?
* It should have Wellness etched under Atlas 150?
* The date stamp is in the corner and not centered?

Anyone have anymore info on if its real or not? Thanks!

EDIT:

Went to a Crate&Barrel and looked at one they had boxed. The packaging is definitely different from the one I got from Amazon but the etching on the machine looks the same. Going to return the Amazon one nonetheless.
