I started working at a super awesome wine shop, and as part of starting to work there, I got a $500 case after a couple months of working there. Wondering what ya'lls thoughts are on the selection I chose. I'm working here as part of my CMS certified prep, an am loving it so far.

Great selection here! Love the Turley Zin. Such a great wine.
On a side note, good luck on your exam! I passed mine back in 2013. It takes a lot of prep but there are a lot worse things you could be studying 🍷

What an awesome job!! These are great picks. I recently tried the Turley rosé and loved it, i bet the red is great. The 2012 Viña Tondonia is showing beautifully right now. I also am a huge fan of anything from Martha Stoumen. Her wines are so delicious. Drink those fun wines with friends. Good luck with your CMS!

  3. Lots of good wines there. Thats an awesome sherry. chill and sip with salty foods like nuts, canned fish and chips/crackers.

  4. That Laherte rosé champagne is absolutely killer! 100% Pinot Meunier if I remember correctly. Enjoy!

  5. They aren’t fucking around. Great producers, solid juice throughout. I’m only familiar with 75% of those wines, but they hooked you up.

The Rioja, Sherry, and the Chevalier are ask great as well.

Haven’t tasted it recently but I have it on very good authority that the 14 Chevalier is banging.

  8. All bangers. Great lineup, very pleased to see Terre Rouge representation

Personally I’d let that Turley zin sit a couple years but it’s good to drink now as well. Howell mountain is one of the better vineyards they have.

turley zinn is a winner! In all my years of working stores, no one outright gifted or rewarded me with a case so you’re so lucky.

  11. That Pessac will be amazing. I much prefer it to Pomerol these days.

Aged Terre Rouge (really any Bill Easton wines) are often wildly underrated values. They have genuinely old school southern Rhône sensibilities: savoury, vibrant and balanced. It’d be a great late summer wine right now, served at a good 15c or so for freshness.
