Wash apples. Cut out core. Put in a baking pan. Fill center with brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Bake in a moderate oven (350) about one hour.

My mom makes these but she adds raisins and sometimes granola for crunch!

I make these but wrap each in pie crust and serve with warm custard sauce. Fantastic!

My grandmother made them wrapped in pie dough too. But filled the core cavity with red brach’s cinnamon dots and plugged the hole with a slug of butter.
