Fire Away!!

I’ll basically eat anything but this is my 2nd time cooking a thick buddy bc I have a hard time spending $80 on 4 steaks, the thin cut is too hard to get right. And they’re both $16.99lb.

Was going for medium rare. Pretty sure this is G. Ramsys way but I haven’t watched top chef in years.

Pan sear, garlic, butter, thyme on medium/low until it’s done. How’d I do?

for me that is essentially a perfect steak, the crust, the seasonings, the everything

The only complaint I have is seeing this at 9am. Nicely done! Looks amazing

Looks a closer to medium, but always hard to tell with contrast. 100% smashed though.

Throw some taters and asparagus on there and that is a fine looking meal. Nice work.

Gimme your best shot? What are you even talking about? That looks absolutely fantastic. I will point out the lack of sides though. Just plated on a small bed of a salad with a couple sliced in half and strategically placed cherry tomatoes would’ve added a LOT visually. It’s not difficult or expensive and frankly is just for looks anyway but it’d have added a little something to the presentation. Still though the steak looks phenomenal.

Looks good, maybe a little heavier on the seasoning than I would like

  7. What did you use on the crust? It look fantastic.

Nicely done. That’s a perfect medium rare plus. Only complaint I would have is looks like the steak might have been over seasoned a bit. If it’s good meat and cooked right, dry brine and a reverse sear all you need is some salt
