The Mediterranean Diet is more than just a way of eating – it’s a lifestyle rooted in tradition. Countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, such as Greece, Italy and Spain, have long followed this pattern of eating. Celebrated for its health benefits and ease of adoption, this diet has consistently ranked among the best overall diets by health experts worldwide.
At its heart, the Mediterranean Diet emphasizes the following core principles:
•  Plant-based foods: Fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole grains form the foundation.
•  Healthy fats: Extra virgin olive oil is the primary fat source, replacing butter and margarin
