As a Korean kid, I could not understand why other kids hated spinach. Cuz the spinach I was eating, my mom shikim, amazing, immaculate, gone in 5 seconds. Here’s how to make it in 5 minutes. The perfect Korean panchchan or side dish. Get your spinach. Think of it like one box serves one person. Then boil water with salt. Add your spinach and blanch for 20 seconds as your greens shrink like crazy and turn bright green and beautiful. Now into an ice bath. You do not want this to overcook. Strain, then gently ring out the excess water with your hands like this. Last step, seasoning. We’re doing sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, green onions, a little bit of kukaru, sesame seeds, and salt to taste. Mix well and enjoy your delicious, nutritious Korean spinach panchchan. 1. Always a blessing when parents make unpopular food so well that you like it. I love brussels sprouts because my mom has always made them great. Steak, on the other hand… Out of an abundance of caution, Mom always cooked it well done. I thought something was wrong with me that I HATED steak until I was like 15 when I first tried it medium rare.

  2. love love LOVE spinach. It doesn't have a strong flavour so it works with everything! Including smoothies and sweets!

  3. Sorry, but pretty much ALL KOREAN FOOD god disqualified when I read on the recipie the instruction were basically…

Take this otherwise garden fresh vegitable, and BURY IT IN THE GROUND FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. Then just about the time when it's REALLY STARTING TO ROT. Dig it up and "enjoy".
They made no promises on how long your digesting system might keep it in (One way or the other) personal testing estimates average time of about 2.5 seconds in mouth before the GAG REFLEX kicks in ON OVERDRIVE.

  5. ppl act like broccoli is the worst thing but they taste so goodddd especially when they’re boiled and seasoned

  6. as a croatian… i have also always loved it. there are two ways we do it. for kids it is mostly super tinely sliced and cooked on a bit flour fried on oil, with a bit of milk or sour cream. adult version is with olive oil and fried garlic

  7. My early disgusted with spinach was due to the canned spinach served at school lunch. Ugh! Once I discovered fresh spinach, cooked or raw, a whole new veggie world opened. Then with Asian seasoning, blasted into outer space!

  8. The only thing I don’t like and have never liked is Brussels sprouts. I will eat any other vegetable without a second thought 😭

  9. 2 mistakes; Never buy spinach without rooth, and never boil fruits or vegetables and throw the water. You do not even need to add water. Low heat two min and done.

  10. My mom used to make me spinach soup. It was a bunch of other leafy greens added in but the main one was spinach. 🤤
