Acquired back in ’23 during my stint at Total Wine. Don’t judge.
Upon opening, notes of bright red cherries came out to greet me, along with a hint of boysenberry, and (I kid you not) grape Hi-Chew. The palate was more restrained, with secondary tones of tomato, tar, and black tea. Of course, nebbiolo is supposed to be acidic and this did not disappoint. After thoroughly drying my mouth, it gripped me on the back end, as if to say “don’t you dare forget me.” An hour’s decant let the flavors blend and settle, but did not diminish the vigor of this surprisingly assertive wine.
Langhe is often described as the “junior version” of Barolo or Barbaresco and my experience matched this impression. Youthful, eager to please, and passionately demonstrative.

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. [Here’s a picture of how this wine tasted.](https://as1.ftcdn.net/jpg/00/68/87/38/1000_F_68873861_3CLrBLURjeYrTGXg3Nrs5C8W6Yv793X2.webp)
