Smoker flared up out of nowhere and it just took off. Had bacon wrapped pork on there so I thought it was just a little grease at first, but it ended up being more. Is it safe to use or is it time for retirement?

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

You probably just need to vacuum it out, replace the hot rod and thermometer inside and you’ll be good to go

Clean it up good. Replace a few parts and let it roll.

Clean it and heat it up empty to reevaluate.

Kick it to the curb and go with a kettle, or, buy a kettle to supplement the Traeger.

You can’t kill those “pro” models.

Nope. Finish is toast but that can be fixed. Some or most of the electronics can be replaced if they’re damaged.

With a Traeger, its only dead when you let it die 😉

What temperature were you cooking at? Fires like this happen when trying to cook at high temps that are better suited to charcoal.
