Hi All,

First time canner. I followed the Ball recipe for tomato’s canned in their own sauce. I executed the recipe correctly, but they look odd to me (see attached photo). I have two questions:

1: Do they look right?

2: It appears that I got several grains of rice from my salt cellar in the jars when I added the salt. Does this count as foreign contamination and necessitate tossing the batch?

Thank you all for the help. I tend to be a bit neurotic about food safety and I have found this all to be very anxiety inducing 😬.
