Hey all – new member here but long time Traeger owner. Use my 22” at least once a week. I recently bought new apple pellets and filled the box up for a smoke, and noticed the pellets would not feed into the smoker. I just emptied the box out and vacuumed up as much as I could, but still not seeing the feeder move at all. Anyone run into this problem before? Do I need to dismantle this thing now or should I make a call?

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

Well you have to add them to the hopper ya silly goose

Operate the worm gear and see if it moves? You might you might’ve shared the pin or maybe the motor is burnt out

Isn’t there an option to prime the auger somewhere ? You should be able to see it moving, and check the pellets are getting to the fire pot

Plug in turn it on to smoke and check if aurge has movement
Could be a pellet jammed between aurge and feed tunnel

I had this happen. I had to remove the auger to clear a jammed pellet that was preventing its rotation.

There are relatively easy Traeger how to videos on their website. Took me about an hour to finish, but I was being careful.

If the auger is not moving it’s either jammed, auger motor failed or the controller failed. I had an auger motor fail, went to my local dealer and they had one in stock.

Over the years I had my well used BBQ075 I replaced the auger motor, controller, and induction fan. Mostly just failed from use. My local Platinum Dealer always had the parts on hand.

Turn it on high. See if auger moves. If not likely jammed by a couple pellets. Give it a good jostle around and they should dislodge. If no luck disassemble and pull auger. Clear out reassemble.

Not working after that then electrical or motor issue. Hate to say it but as much as these things cost they are built cheap as shit

Mine had a pin that went from the auger to the motor shaft that held them attached and it had came out. They sent me a bolt to put in its place. You might want to check that you’ll have to pull off the temperature control panel to see it.

It looks really dirty in there. The debris sort of bakes into place in the drive and contributes towards clogging.

If you call the customer service number they will walk you through trouble shooting to figure out the problem. When I did this they had the replacement part to me within 48 hours and included a number to call with questions while installing it.

This sub is basically people who buy a traeger just because others popularized them, who are clueless but have money and post dumb questions about using it

Sounds like the auger either isn’t moving or is jammed. Turn it on without pellets in there and see if the auger moves

Not related to your issue, what model is that? I just got the same one second-hand haha

Check if the motor is running and if it sounds like it is but the auger isn’t spinning, there’s a shear/coupling pin that has either fallen out or it has broken. If the motor isn’t running but there’s power, disconnect the auger and see if the auger spins freely. In that case, it’s probably the motor.

When I bought my Tailgater, the motor wasn’t even connected to the auger.

Make sure the auger spin setting is the correct direction.

Wow. These things sound way worth the money. To think, I’ve been using the same weber kettle for 25 years. I’ve only had to replaced the grate.

🤔 gotta put the pellets in first, right.

If you call Traeger, they will video conference and walk you through the repair, even staying on until it’s fixed. If it doesn’t work still, they’ll mail you the part free of charge. Best customer service I’ve ever experienced

If you own a 3D printer, there is a funnel you can print and place in the bottom of your hopper to directly feed the pellets into the auger.
