Less than a month old. The paint job is obviously cheap quality and the ash dump lever has already stripped.

Mine doesn’t look anything like that. Are you only using the ash lever when it’s cold? You never want to use it while the grill is hot.

I would contact ReqTec – this isn’t normal. Mine looks great after 4-5 months of very frequent use

That’s user error. Never happened to mine.

You either had a grease fire or had uncombusted pellets in the dump. Happened to mine, I scraped it off and repainted, still my favorite grill but I would definitely pay extra for something built better.

I think you set the ash dump on fire. I don’t believe this is QC issue as much as user error issue.

Have had mine a few years. Doesn’t look like that. I’m going to say you didn’t clean it and set it on fire. Looks like a grease fire in ash pan

These don’t have any kind of grease catch/bucket. I love my Bullseye deluxe but that is the one thing I don’t understand why it doesn’t have it. You need to be diligent about cleaning it out and burning off and grease after each use or do like I do and I just throw an aluminum pan on the deflector if I am cooking anything that is dropping a good bit of grease – Pork Shoulder/brisket/wings all get a tray under.
Mine full on caught fire 1000+ degrees once. I managed to smother it and get it extinguished without and damage to my smoker luckily. Annoyingly it leaked grease down the legs and onto the concrete for several cooks after that but once I got it all burned out and started using the trays I haven’t had any issues since.

This is a user issue not a manufacturer, learn to clean your fuckin grill

The fact that you can’t identify why that happened to your grill and you’re blaming it on “build quality” tells me you should probably list that up and sell it or surrender it to someone who knows what they’re doing and stick to teflon and the oven.
You had a fire and fortunately for you, the grill contained it instead of melting and burning your deck/home down. You have an ash dump for a reason, I’ve used the X and for you to **strip the damn thing** tells me again, you have no clue what you’re doing.
