The wine that blew my mind bitd was the 1994 vintage of this wine. Was back at the scene of the crime tonight (Tre Scalini – Wooster St- New Haven, CT) and found this bottle for a steal at restaurant prices. I don’t have a cellar so drinking aged CA cabs is a rare treat. Drank this sans food at the bar – no decant. Took half home for second taste.

Brambly fruit and a touch of dankness on the nose that dissipated with aeration. Medium body with good color and silky mouthfeel. Plenty of fruit and decent structure. Medium long finish. Drinking well with no significant signs ( that I could notice) of decline.

My experience with wines of this age is fairly limited. BV did not disappoint and my memory of the 1994 remains unsold (ala J. Geils Band) with a second memory to add to the list.

Any guesses on price for this wine?
