Step by step of how to make smoked /dried catfish at home ,with using lime and salt to wash and palmoil,dry pepper and salt to seasoning it to taste .

Hi. So today I decided to make oven smoke catfish. Uh so the cutting process here, cutting it into sizes. It has been cut here. Here it is. But I have to wash off the sliming part of it. So I’m using lime to wash off the sliming of the fish. Okay. So, the lime is doing its trick. Is actually making it more clean here. So, I’m just playing around with the fish. It’s a big fish. Mhm. Then I’m adding salt to it to wash off the the slime. scrubbing it. And at this moment, I noticed the slime is not that that much again. So, the lime and the salt is is the deal to wash off the the slime. So, I’m washing off the the fish. I mean, I’m washing off the lime and the salt away from the fish. So, here is is clean. He’s not sliming anymore. As you can see, it looks clean here. Yeah. Mhm. So after washing, I I drain the fish so that the water will come off from it. So here you can see it’s clean. And I have to add uh palm oil uh pepper, dry pepper and uh little salt to my taste. You can add soya spice or yeah soya spice depending on your taste. So I’ve added the salt. I’m adding the palm oil. depends on the quantity of the salt. So just just a little palm oil and then dry pepper to give it some spicy taste. So after all that I will have to mix it together. Yeah. See it might be messy a bit messy. I have to to mix everything together. Mixing mixing mixing. So after the mixing, okay, I’m almost done. So that’s that is after the mixing. Then I have to set it on the tray. But I think I forgot to put uh oil on that that tray so that it will not be sticky cuz later on it was very sticky. So I’m arranging it on the tray and giving it some space so it don’t stick to each other. So straight to the oven and I have to set the temperature to 175 to 180°. Okay. So I use 180° here. Uh-huh. So all set and let’s fire. So I started by 5 uh 5:00 p.m. So after like 45 minutes I pipped and this is what is going on inside. So it’s it’s forming kind of but I still have to wait so that it can be dried very well. So around to 8 I check back and taa this is what I got. It comes out so nice. See that? Yeah, this is the sticky part I was saying. But it’s okay. It comes out nice. And also, I think next time I’ll slice it tiny, not this big, so that it can get dried on time. Mhm. This one is too big. So, well, above all, it’s okay. It comes out nice.
