I think $21 is the reasonable price for this wine and $60 is far too much. I’ve had it and it doesn’t show the strengths of Merlot in my opinion.

At that price point it’s ok.

It’s a 55+ bottle of a nice representation of a California Merlot. I would absolutely get one to try at Ralph’s. They are clearing inventory and selling it below cost. Which makes me think that it has been at that store for a minute.

Yes buy the whole rack. A lot people hate on Duckhorn but I think it’s a pretty good Merlot. Certainly nowhere near the residual sugar levels of a Caymus. I get excited when I find it for $40 so $21 is a steal.

The Banshee to the left is a great Cab. Priced about $17-18 in Texas.

I’ve never seen it priced that low. As far as the price point for that specific wine, it’s the lowest I’ve ever seen it. That is not to speak to the quality/ price ratio though.

Something must be going on at Duckhorn. Goldeneye, a Duckhorn winery in Mendocino, that specializes in Pinot, has their $55 bottle of pinot on sale for $33 at Kroger. Total wine has them for $45 to $55. I purchased 1 bottle, it was great, just how I remembered it, went back and bought the remaining 18. Have had a few bottles since, all great.
Either Kroger negotiated a killer deal or something is going on.

Duckhorn being essentially the same price as decoy means one of those is mispriced lol.. I’m from Canada so it seems like a very good price, but I’m biased

UPDATE: I bought all 3 bottles they had in stock HA I’ve never had it, but even if I don’t enjoy the first bottle it would be a great gift because of the brand recognition

The comments here are insane. People love to hate on Duckhorn, but $22 for Duckhorn Merlot is a steal and I would have bought every single bottle.

Anyone who doesn’t think that this is a bargain at $20 needs to think about why they hate Duckhorn so much. Did Duckhorn hurt you in some way? Is this wine so below your pretentious palate that you’d scoff at paying the paltry sum of $20? I’d buy all that they have, cases if available. Sorry if I don’t have $1K+ to drop on a French example that becomes a bit salty as I jerked off into my own mouth. Bunch of jackasses…

Duckhorn in my eyes will always be a $40 bottle for what you get. That’s what it was years ago and that’s what it still should be.
At that price, I’d buy a case, blindly.

We used to sell the 375 for 52 at my last place. 22 is a steal. Not my taste but worth the price For sure

I’d say the merlot has fallen off through the years but I would buy it all too, because you can’t get a quality California Cab for that price. Much less, a well known producer of a Napa Valley Designate Merlot

Yes !!!
I know It can be a wood-bomb depending on vintage but it has good quality and reputation and that is a great price for the value of it .

I know for sure a friend of mine working at the restaurant could get $20 a bottle when the reps from the winery are giving away promotions. So it looks like Duckhorn is dumping their inventory. Maybe they see the market is crashing?

It’s normally overpriced for what it is but at that price is super solid

Sidenote, Banshee Pinot Noir is great
Great price!
