It only took until September, but I finally have my first ripe pepper of the season
For those who are curious, this is a Korean red pepper (홍고추). I started from seed indoors back in March, and planted outside in May. I finally just harvested my first ripe pepper in September, with hopefully many more to come.

Congrats! I had a similar timeline to you, but with ghost peppers. Just got my first one about 10 days ago. Since then, I’ve got about 7 ripe peppers. Next year, I will start them inside in early January hahaha

Similar schedule. I think I started the first week of March. Got a few cayennes last month, but nothing else until this month. Once the temperatures started to drop a little they really took off.
I’m planning to overwinter as many of my plants as I can so hopefully I’ll have some earlier in the year next year.

I’ve had years identical to yours where nothing happened all spring and summer except growth and then it remembered it was a pepper plant in September.
