Made myself my birthday cake for the first time after making everyone else theirs for years. It’s a mascarpone/dulce de leche/ whipped cream filling instead of the traditional sour cream.

    sounds amazing. honey cake is a classic but that filling twist is genius. i just did a lemon drizzle cake for my birthday, super simple but fresh. might try your filling next time. happy baking!
