Carla Marchetti, a private chef in Tuscany
Carla Marchetti grew up with a visceral passion for Tuscan cuisine, but the beautiful thing, among many others, is that she is not an uncompromising absolute vegetarian because, in her professionalism, she is capable of ranging everywhere.
Carla is a private chef in Tuscany. She has a deep understanding of food, its benefits, seasonality, and preservation. She knows how to create delicious recipes without wasting anything. While she’s at her best in the kitchen, she entertains you with so much information you’ll want to take notes!
The birth of a passion
It all begins in his tender childhood, linked to the story of Montecatini Terme where, in the 50s, his grandparents Settimio Gacci and Rosa Pacini, had two restaurants, The Clock And The Telegraph(I wonder if any of you remember them…). Carla spent most of her days there, helping her grandmother in the kitchen, never losing sight of her. She was a curious girl, fascinated by all that busyness: chopping, kneading, mincing, slicing, and eating! …because a good cook has to be a good eater too!
In this whirlwind of expert gestures, scents, and colors, with infinite passion, he begins his journey. Through her husband, Roberto Luciani, well-known comic book author and illustrator for the Educational Projects Division, (remember The Little Ones’ Courier?) Carla begins to deal with publishing, and while she cooks up healthy and tasty recipes at home and away from home, she begins to write books for Giunti Editori in Florence.
The first books
He writes the “Liver Cookbook”, The “Pregnancy Cookbook: Eating Well and Healthy While Expecting”, “Good food for seniors” And “Towards the vegetarian choice” with the Professor Umberto Veronesi And Mario Pappagallo.
Carla has always supported the short supply chain and the organic farming. He prefers to cook according to the seasonality of food and to buy, as much as possible, locally km 0.
I really like to eat and I’m basically a health conscious, even if every now and then I suffer from unhealthy attractions for food and I also make incursions into fast foodNutrition is the basis of our health and we are what we eat, believe it or not. A few months ago I wanted to organize a vegetarian dinnerI have always liked to experiment and discover new flavours and the evening based on quinoa it was a huge success.
On that occasion I met Carla Marchetti, a woman with a simple and genuine character, like her cooking, but at the same time a veritable explosion of information on healthy and targeted eating. Such an inexhaustible source of wise words that spending an evening with her becomes surprisingly instructive.
Books for Giunti Editore
Carla still publishes recipes for the Giunti Editore, collaborates on events, has a very busy schedule of commitments such as home chef and holds courses in Tuscan, vegetarian, and gluten-free cooking.
I don’t know how many possibilities there are, especially for those who suffer from… food intolerances, of having a cook available in your kitchen who prepares delicious recipes and curious delicacies while teaching how to live well by eating, but Carla is definitely an experience worth trying!
