hey all, im very new to growing peppers, food in general, i have some sweet snackin pepper plants that i’ve grown from seed and kept indoors with the occasional time outside for some more sun and wind, i left them outside for not even an hour 45 and they are so wilted and floppy, during this a neighbor mowed about yard and blew all of the grass clippings into my bucket which makes me even more nervous…i know im probably freaking over nothing but if anyone has any feed back or just some beginner knowledge i can’t tell you how much i’d appreciate it.

id also like to note, because i was unable to add more than one pic, a few of the leaves are damaged, you can clearly see where a blade of grass cut them up
That container is too small
I’m not sure what the question is. Do they wilt only outside? It may be much hotter than they’re accustomed to, being indoors.
Anyway, they’re way too crowded for container growing, even in-ground you wouldn’t grow peppers that close together. Surely they’re drinking up whatever water you’re providing very quickly, especially in direct sun and having so little soil access per plant. This also translates to how much nutrients they each have access to, and ultimately how many peppers they can put out.
Edit: the grass and leaf damage you mention is a non-issue, unless your neighbour treats their lawn with herbicides. Depending on the product, it could damage or kill certain plants, but the wilting in the photo is likely just temporary stress from lack of water.
More water. Transplant each plant to a much larger pot. Add coffee grounds for a nitrogen boost.
They def need water. The key to watering peppers is not every day. They usually need a day or two in between to breathe and take in water. However if they’re wilting like this give them some water and they perk up. Mine do this in the heat too but come back to normal in the night so don’t worry. But definitely repot them bc they look a lil crowded
My seedlings do the same when being exposed to direct sun for the first time, they just need time to get used to it. What I did is leave them in direct sun starting 30 mins on day one, and go up 30 mins per day. After about 3 weeks of going up 30 mins a day, mine are usually okay to leave in full sun
