Old Town Alexandria is getting some new dining options, including café-bakeries and Italian cuisine. Here are four culinary options that are on the horizon.

For Five Coffee and Grazie Nonna

Carr Properties has announced two new leases at its upcoming residential building at 425 Montgomery Ave.: For Five Coffee and Grazie Nonna. The project is expected to be complete in 2026.

For Five Coffee is a New York–based chain of specialty coffee shops that takes “a full-service approach to sourcing, roasting, distributing, and serving artisanal coffee,” according to a news release. It opened its first DMV location in 2018, also in Alexandria, and now has 12 across the region.

Grazie Nonna is an Italian American restaurant with a flagship location in Washington, DC. It specializes in New York–style pies, pastas, and other “classic Italian American comfort dishes.” This will be its first Virginia location.

Maman

French café Maman, another brand from New York, will open a new space at 701 King St., in the location of the former Foxtrot. Inner demolition began last week on the space, ALXnow reported.  Maman has several locations in Washington, DC, and recently opened its first Virginia location in the Mosaic District.

Pupatella

Pupatella, a local chain of Neapolitan-style pizzas, has announced that it will open its new Alexandria location on September 15. This new space at 700 Slaters Ln. in Old Town North will be the restaurant’s ninth Virginia location.
