DUBLIN – Dish n Dash, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant based in Silicon Valley, is planning to expand to Dublin early next year.

Renovations are underway at the former Applebee’s Grill + Bar, which closed in June. The 5,400-square-foot space at 4808 Dublin Blvd. will feature an enclosed patio, bringing Mediterranean-style dining to the Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center.

Along with Sunnyvale, San Jose, Cupertino, Milpitas and Fremont, the Dublin site stands to become the family-owned restaurant’s sixth Dish n Dash location in the Bay Area.

“Expanding to Dublin felt like a natural step,” said Nadiah Mshasha, owner of the restaurant along with her husband, Emad Ibrahim. “As family members moved into Dublin also and other parts of the Tri-Valley, they often mentioned the need for an upscale, fast-casual Middle Eastern restaurant.”

The city also mirrors the characteristics of Silicon Valley communities Dish n Dash already serves, Mshasha said — from diverse families to busy professionals seeking high-quality dining and companies with a need for upscale, customizable catering and private events.

The menu features shawarma wraps and falafel pitas, along with salads topped with protein and traditional dishes such as mansaf. In addition, Dish n Dash operates a central kitchen that produces staples such as fresh hummus, falafel, pita bread and specialties such as kibbeh — items many restaurants don’t prepare in-house, Mshasha said.

That commitment to quality traces back to the restaurant’s beginnings. In 2001, Ibrahim opened Dishdash, a full-service restaurant in Sunnyvale’s historic Murphy District that the owners say was the first full-service Middle Eastern restaurant in Silicon Valley. Dishdash Restaurant Group launched its first Dish n Dash fast-casual offshoot in 2011 on Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale. The concept quickly spread across the Bay Area.

“We hope to have a soft opening for family, friends and industry reps early in the first quarter of 2026,” Mshasha said. “Our goal is to bring the area our spin on traditional Middle Eastern food, with a focus on serving high-quality, authentic dishes.”
