Hey all,
Super pumped to have just received my new Weber today. Have a couple questions and looking for any input/advice on where to best put my grill, and how to ensure I’m always safely handling and storing my propane tank.
For context, I live in Tucson AZ where it’s very hot and sunny most of the year.
The first photo shows where I intend on keeping the grill, as it’s slight beyond the over hang of my house, so there’s nothing over the grill. My only concern is that the grill will be sitting in the exposed sun all day if I keep it there.
Second photo shows an alternate location I could keep the grill. I assume it’s not the best place to actually use the grill as it’s under an overhang (overhang is ~ 5 feet above the grill), and is up against a wall of my house. I was told to keep the grill ~ 3 feet away from a wall ideally.
Last two photos show how the propane tank is housed inside of the grill as I’m sure most of you are familiar with. I was told by the gentleman that delivered the grill, that I obviously don’t want to leave the propane tank directly out and exposed to the sun (increased risk of leaks, fire, explosion etc), however if I keep it housed inside the grill, even if the grill is directly exposed to the sun, the propane tank should be fine because it’s inside grill housing. Please let me know what you think of this. Of course I could always use the grill out in that more open space (photo 1), and then move it to the more covered area when not using it (photo 2). Additionally, if I have a grill cover over it during the day, does that mitigate the concern with sun exposure to the propane tank?
Lastly, is it best practice to disconnect the propane tank from the regulator and from the fuel line after each use, or is it fine to keep it connected all the time?
Thanks to anyone that took the time to read this and can offer any insights. I’m a new first time home owner, as well as first time gas grill owner, and want to be sure I’m following the best practices with both.
Cheers!

I’m going to let someone else tackle all your questions but I’d like to add that’s a nice looking grill! Enjoy the newness while it lasts, it’s all downhill after the first use!
Oh, and no, you done need to disconnect the propane after each use. Just be sure to turn the flow off at the canister once you’re finished grilling. And in Tucson you don’t need a grill cover, just keep it parked out of the sun if possible to avoid sun bleaching.
