AUSTIN, Texas — Earlier this month, Tomlinson’s Feed made a substantial donation of 90,000 pounds of pet food to area shelters, including Sandy Creek Animal Shelters, Ferallife Guards, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, and Austin Pets Alive!.

The donation, consisting of over 95 pallets of high-quality dog and cat food, was significantly supported by Pets Global, which contributed half of the total amount.

The donation came in response to urgent pleas for assistance following the devastating July 4th floods, which led to an increase in pet surrenders and injuries, creating a heightened demand for supplies like wet food.

“Ensuring pets in Central Texas continue to receive nourishment and care is more critical than ever,” said Karen Rewis, Director of Distribution, Farm & Feed at Pets Global, Inc. “We’re proud to partner with Tomlinson’s Feed and their incredible network to provide quality cat and dog food to the families, fosters, and rescues in need.”

On Friday, August 5th, Laurie Frederick with Ferallife Guards received their portion of the donation.

“When the Sandy Creek flood disaster struck, Ferallife Guards doubled our capacity overnight to take in cats and kittens. We are deeply grateful to Tomlinson’s for stepping up in a time of crisis and helping us provide comfort, nourishment, and hope to both animals and people affected by the disaster,” Frederick said.

Scott Click, 2nd-generation Owner of Tomlinson’s Feed, emphasized the importance of the donation.

“It’s the right thing to do,” he said. “We have to step up to help these pets stay healthy until they find their forever home.”

This eight semi-truck-sized donation comes ahead of Tomlinson’s usual quarterly pet food distribution to local rescues. So far in 2025, Tomlinson’s has donated over 150,000 pounds of pet food to more than 50 local shelters and rescue partners.
