Excessive butter and cheese because I just want extra calories. I could eat it plain though. Blanched Al dente then put in oven to crisp up a little bit.

I thought you shaved some carrot over that broccoli

Are we just not going to talk about the forehead under your eating surface?

Edibles curbed my 20 year drinking problem. But now my fat ass has the munchies all the time.

Self care doesn’t always look pretty. Using limited energy on fancy plating might be a waste of resources. I’m glad you are giving your body the nutrition it deserves. Keep it up.

    Butta make it bettah…
But you should also add more protein and animal fats, like a greasy burger patty or something; help cost your stomach and give your liver what it likes to help clean your system

Stop by r/stopdrinking sometime. It helps me a lot today, but was really important when I was trying and failing over and over to get sober.

Salmon and broccoli cheese pasta bake.

Fixes half of what booze takes. The other half is on you 💜

Nah, friend. I’m glad you’re getting some nutrients and fueling your body. This is an excellent food porn. Take care of yourself 💚🥦💚

Oooo I love cheesy broccoli. I like eating mine with noodles and a handful of shredded chicken.

I wish you the best of luck with your drinking problem.

I was sitting here thinking “why did they shred carrots to put on broccoli?” Lol

Hope you get some help with the drinking. We all struggle sometimes, never be afraid to ask for help.

    Looks good!

Check out r/stopdrinking. It’s provided great support, fellowship and information for so many.

I have many questions about the dude near the curtains though

Your title tells me the same thing I kept telling myself when I needed change.

There is nothing wrong with asking for help. You’re not dead, you’re not a failure, you’ve simply fallen for the trap all humans do: being human.

I achieved sobriety. I’ve met over twenty that also quit within my time of achieving sobriety. So I know for a fact it is completely possible.

    I wish you the best.

My favorite is roasting broccoli with parmesan, garlic and lemon juice until they get a lil crispy 🤤👌 I’ve had an entire pan of broccoli for dinner more times than I should admit

Man, I’ve been here. Went through a bad break up. Started drinking heavily. I would go days where my only caloric intake was from alcohol. Longest was 13 days. I went from 195lbs to 124lbs over 8 months. It got to the point where I was breaking into my mom’s house at 3am after a binge and cooking up broccoli and passing out on her couch.

Eventually I sold my house, moved in with my parents, and got healthy. I still drink, but nearly like I did and in the process of cutting down further. But im back on my feet and a functional member of society. Currently at holding steady at 175lbs which is more healthy for my height than the 195 was!

Good luck on your journey. It wont happen over night.

  19. Chicken and broccoli with steamed rice is my go to!

An ex of mine, who was an alcoholic, proclaimed broccoli a superfood. He would actually go to the grocery store and buy a head of broccoli to munch on, on his way home from work.

Glad you’re giving your body some nourishment, I’m sure it appreciates it. I know the struggle all too well. Have almost 16 months this time around.

I know it seems impossible when you’re in the thick of it. Keep fighting the good fight, you’re worth it.

Please make sure to keep eating. I’ve been hospitalized a couple of times for just drinking vodka and not eating real food.
