Washing the falovorizer bars… Why do some clean off so easily? And the others don’t…

Real question is… why are you washing off the flavor?

I got rid of my bars and put in QwikChar trays.

Going to guess the ones directly over the flame are harder to clean off. There’s one never exposed to direct heat and another only when you use the sear burner.

Looks about right. Every other one.

  4. why are they called flavorizers where they are just the burner protectors?

  5. Ones over the burners are easier to clean because all the food gets carbonized

Ones not over the burner get baked on grease/food

I swap them around when I clean so they have a chance to burn off. I just scrape them with an old gift card though, no scrubbing.

Grease fires happen from pooling grease lower down in the bbq, so i don’t worry much about these.

    Ummmmm. Ok.

    Well. Uhhhhh.

    One:

You need to rotate them more often first of all. Then each one will have same time to bake on the fats and juices you’re seeing polymerized on the other ones.

    Two:

Plastic putty knife and 45 seconds then fire up the grill.

If you preheat your grill and aren’t using a ton of sugary rubs and sauces; it’s rare there’s any buildup. But it does happen from time to time.

    Tree:

Tip for you sport: you don’t cook your food on the flavourizer bars. They merely vaporize juices from the foods, mitigate flareups and distribute heat. No need to wash em.
