The name of this dish is 捣莓蛋 which means a naughty egg playing with the strawberry(莓 means berries). The guy in the video is famous on chinese social media for making semi-satirical food meant to play with our perception of food. Mainly, he makes eggs look like other food with fine-dining presentations.
His work is not really stupid if you view it as what it is: a funny art piece meant to get a ‘haha’ on social media. He is not selling you the idea that eggs somehow taste better this way.
So I don’t get all the comments here going ‘lol just eat a strawberry’ when his videos are never about practical cooking. It’s like walking up to a painter trying some niche drawing technique and saying ‘lol just take a picture with your camera bro’.
