For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, a popular Cumberland County restaurant’s dining room is reopening.
On Tuesday, Olive Oil Grille in East Pennsboro Township announced on Facebook that sit-down dining will resume on Sept. 22.
The restaurant at 71 Erford Road at the Camp Hill Commons has been operating under an online-ordering-only model.
Diners have had to place orders via the restaurant’s website and pick up their food to go.
According to the message, Olive Oil Grille is closed this week to facilitate training new employees. It will reopen for online takeout orders only Sept. 15-19.
“Thank you for understanding and we look forward to welcoming you in the restaurant once again,” said the message.
Olive Oil Grille opened in spring 2019. It is owned by John and Maryam Kranias and John’s brother, Niko Kranias.
The concept for the 65-seat fast-casual restaurant grew out of a Gettysburg pizzeria owned by the brothers’ parents, Kostas and Antonia Kranias.
Olive Oil uses an assembly-line method of ordering. Similar to brands such as Chipotle, the restaurant lets diners to choose ingredients including grains, salad dressings and proteins for customized bowls, salads and pitas.
