Stockport Pyramid will open on Christmas Day with a full festive dinner alongside its varied selection of than 100 buffet dishes.

Luxury dining concept Royal Nawaab Pyramid opened in the prominent former office block ‘wonder’ earlier this year. The 1,500-capacity restaurant and banqueting hall is spread across three floors and has been praised by the likes of food critic Jay Rayner for its choice on offer.

Run by Mahboob Hussain, who also ran the Royal Nawaab venue in Levenshulme between 2002 and 2022, the restaurant attracted more than 10,000 visitors in its first two weeks alone. Over the summer, the £15m venue was also recognised in a prestigious list celebrating the very best Asian restaurants in the UK alongside a number of other Greater Manchester spaces.

To mark its first Christmas, the team at the restaurant have decided to pull all the stops out by hosting a festive feast to diners on Christmas Day. It will be open from 1pm to 11pm on the day itself.

Alongside the usual selection of Indian and Pakistani buffet dishes, diners will also be able to enjoy a full traditional Christmas dinner spread – complete with turkey and all the trimmings. There will also be a whole roasted lamb, which will be prepared by Royal Nawaab owner Mr Mahboob.

Speaking about the menu, Mr Mahboob said: “This is our first Christmas at Royal Nawaab Pyramid and we wanted to offer something special for everyone across the community.

“We believe our menu and venue offers good value and a truly special experience any day of the year and we are delighted to share that a traditional roast turkey dinner has been added to our Christmas Day menu, complete with all the trimmings and festive flair.

“We are thrilled to be open on Christmas Day and we are looking forward to welcoming our guests to celebrate Christmas within the iconic Stockport Pyramid and enjoy the very best of Indian, Pakistani, and festive flavours in one extraordinary dining experience.”

Bookings will be for a two-hour time slot, with a deposit of £10 per person required at the time of booking. This deposit will then be dedicated from the final bill.

When the restaurant first opened in April this year, Mr Mahboob spoke about how he had never imagined he would be able to transform the ‘iconic’ pyramid building into a restaurant. He explained: “”When we first got it, there were people who criticised me and said I was being silly to turn the pyramid into a restaurant. They couldn’t see that it would be a success, but I always believed in it and I knew I would bring it back to life.

“When people walk in, the first thing they say is ‘wow’ and they can’t believe what we have done with it. In fact, I don’t even really see it as a restaurant – it’s an attraction, it’s an experience.”
