Sukiyabashi Jiro – Tokyo

I was finally able to secure a reservation at Sukiyabashi Jiro. While very expensive, this was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. This place is not for everyone. The meal was 45 minutes start to finish. There were only five people in the restaurant at the time. Service was pleasant but the focus was to enjoy the meal. Photos are not allowed which was refreshing as it permitted me to focus on the experience. Of note is the place is run by Jiro’s son. The senior Jiro is still around at age 99 and still comes by the restaurant. For those unfamiliar with the documentary, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi,” consider watching it as it is excellent and inspiring.
