I worked in Korea for 6 months. One of my favourites from the corner store was macaroni cheese and jalapeno sandwiches.

Maybe she thinks you’re skinny and need some weight?

I’m Korean but I’d ditch the peanut butter and go to town on it

Indian co worker I used to work with made himself a strawberry jam and iceberg lettuce toasted sandwich one shift. I thought that was a weird combination.

My granny makes some weird shit too, and we’re Korean as well. Half the time it’s good, but mostly it’s either not edible or decent. She likes to experiment a lot with her cooking and makes me the guinea pig lol

Actually sounds pretty good. Thai and Vietnamese have peanut sauces, so peanut butter isn’t really that far out

I’m not Korean but this sounds very-not-Korean – can anyone confirm?

    Omg would smash (the sandwich)

I bet r/stonerfoods would appreciate your grams (and the sandwich)

Is this a usual combo for her, or did she want to whip up a new creation for you?

It sounds like a hard times meal?

Cheese, tuna and potato still sounds acceptable together. I draw the line at the pb though.

I think part of it is that they don’t know what to do with peanut butter. When I was over there, it was a specialty item at grocers with “American” sections. And then it’s also…’neotraditional?’ for them to have processed cheese slices on everything (eg, ramyeon, sushi), and a lot of random sweet potato (eg, on pizza).

Also, their tuna isn’t as rank/fishy as ours.

Halmoni is trying. Peanuts and cheese are an excellent combo, I can even see adding tuna to potato salad and it being a tasty combo. I’m trying to fathom all these flavors together. I’m sure it tastes alright, just a little confusing. What I would give to have a strange combo meal cooked by my grandmothers again. Treasure her and her strange sandwich lol

Op Nana says you need more protein in your diet.

    Got to get them gains

My Korean mom used to make potato egg salad with mayo, apples, and rasins.

Your sandwich is definitely a level above that, but I feel you! 😂
