Hi guys, I just came across this very odd but interesting bottle of Chianti. Has anyone ever heard of Treponti or is there any information about this specific bottle out there? I couldn’t find anything online.

I have a friend that loves Chianti, and this would fit right into his new apartment as a decoration piece.

How do you even go about transporting that, I feel like the neck would break

I bet on my left nut its trash. Can still be a funny souvenir to look at, but thats exactly it.

Once upon a time it was a gimmick for Chianti producers to create these wacky bottles. There is no value in it aside from what you personally feel it’s worth.

  4. “Decoration piece” that’s all this ever was tbh

That is a bottle that would not make me leave the store without buying it

My best friend had one of these 4-foot bottles in the family for years. We were in college when we were finally able to convince them that it was garbage, and took a dremel to the base. Took two people to “operate”.

Is that a glass fiasco (the signature woven basket bottle)?

That’s called a cammellone, and it’s not actually for drinking. Way back in the day, the “mescite” (places that sold wine and other alcoholic beverages) in Firenze would display those at the tables near windows or doors as a sign that people could drink inside
