Uh, did not expect to be posting in the canned sardines sub.

This is probably my first can of sardines. Was a bit perturbed about the bones and skin, but it was basically unnoticeable, very mild crunch occasionally. Was concerned about fishy smell but again, very mild if any.

The sauce was great—not spicy or overly acidic, just good tomato flavor and a bit of heat.

The sardines themselves were good. Flavorful but no overpowering saltiness, good texture—firm yet tender. They held up together nicely—not an unappetizing mess as I was fearing.

Paired well with the rice and eggs.

Very basic and easy, microwaved a bowl of sushi-style rice, put the sardines over it, and fried up two eggs with a sprinkling of Maldon salt. Less than 5 min from start to finish.

One of my favorite breakfast sardines (though I put mine on cheese toast)! Do you always fry one egg and scramble the other, or was the scramble an accident? 😉
