When you’re in Osaka, you can’t miss kushikatsu.
Today, I’m at the super famous Daruma!
First, let’s start with a cold beer 🍺. Just that first sip… pure happiness already.
The first dish is doteyaki. Beef tendons slow-cooked in sweet miso, rich and tender.
Each bite melts in your mouth, and honestly, you could drink another beer right away.
Next up, the main event: the kushikatsu platter! Shrimp, meat, veggies, even cheese.
Crispy on the outside, juicy and hot on the inside. Every skewer is a little surprise and so much fun to try.

Gotta love Osaka!
[Kawachiya](https://maps.app.goo.gl/jmvdu4bKtU5MktDr5) is where we went, and we couldn’t have been happier.
Was introduced to Doteyaki here. They got really confused when I just kept ordering it, as if I didn’t understand that’s not what they’re supposed to be known for 🤣
Overall a great spot and happy with my choice. Went back several times a couple years ago.
Now bring it up to Kanegawa please 😭
Best kushikatsu in Osaka is Hankyu Sanbangai at Umeda:
