At Don Antonio in Hell’s Kitchen, you might sit next to families talking about how much they just spent at The M&M Store. You’ll also experience some of the city’s best Neapolitan-style pizza.

The walk-in-only spot with plenty of seats and a skylight in the dining room opened in 2012, and it comes from the family behind Starita A Materdei in Naples. The restaurant is sparsely decorated with bags of flour and tins of olive oil, and a splash of red tiles over the brick oven—all imported from Italy. There’s a menu full of antipasti and montanare, which are fried pizzas. But what you come here for is simple, classic, well-charred Neapolitan pies with a potent, candy-sweet tomato sauce and a very puffy crust. For a quick lunch or dinner in Times Square, a margherita or any of the other sparsely topped Neapolitan pizza is an excellent choice.

Food RundownMargherita

A simple, excellent Neapolitan pie that one person can easily take down. There’s a lot to like about this, but the first thing you’ll notice is just how well-balanced, sweet, and acidic the tomato sauce is. A springy charred crust and milky fresh mozzarella round out the pie. If you’re only getting one thing here, make it this.

Crocchette Di Patate Al Limone

This is an extremely light potato croquette, stuffed with just enough gooey smoked mozzarella to hold it together. It’s a nice appetizer.
