HTeaO

Bastrop will soon have its first HTeaO location. A company representative confirmed with Community Impact on Aug. 27 that construction on the 2,078-square-foot HTeaO location will begin later this year. The project is estimated to cost $950,000, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Relocations

Victory Tickets

Victory Tickets, owned by Rick and Christy Rivera, has connected residents in the Bastrop area to sports, concerts and theater events since 2016. Now, the family-owned business, currently located at 808 Spring St. in Bastrop, will soon relocate to College Street.

Community Impact

Community Impact celebrates 20 years as a company in September. Founded in Pugerville, owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the first Community Impact newspaper in the Round Rock-Pugerville market in September 2005 with a cover story about the first toll roads in the Austin area. Today, the company has more than 200 employees supporting 40 hyperlocal editions in Texas, printing and distributing more than 2.5 million newspapers a month. Community Impact has a strong print and digital presence, including a daily email newsletter, to serve readers with free news and help local businesses thrive.

Sames Bastrop Ford

Texas’ oldest dealership has offered a range of vehicles while also serving the surrounding community for 115 years. Now, Sames has expanded to include 11 brands at 13 locations throughout South and Central Texas.

United States Postal Service

Founded in July 1775 when Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general, USPS celebrated 50 years and now serves nearly 169 million addresses with over 649,000 employees, according to a news release.

First United Methodist Church of Bastrop

Spanning a full city block in Bastrop’s historic downtown, the congregation is celebrating 100 years in the current sanctuary building with a centennial exhibit displayed through Sept. 30 in the fellowship hall. Members are also celebrating the 175th anniversary as a church, and recently welcomed the Rev. David Felps as its new pastor.

After nearly 15 years, owners Chris and Jennie McEwan will close the eatery, which offered vegan and gluten-free options in downtown Bastrop.

Fright Bite

The horror-themed South Austin food truck offers Mexican dishes with a twist, such as the Possessed Potatoes, topped with meat, butter, salt, Mexican cream and more. Owner Omar Penilla said the business is inspired by his son, Jordan Alexander Penilla, who has a dream to become a horror movie director in the future.
