My Oklahoma Joes pellet smoker was amazing for one year then quit one day after starting. The fuse was blown so I replaced it. It worked till I set temp and it started the auger then blew the fuse again. Ok Joes sent me a new igniter and a new control board. The first board would work because the yellow box with the copper wire coil was broken off. The second one worked fine for about 30 minutes then blew the fuse again. Does anyone have any idea what the cause could be? What is that yellow box?

The big yellow box is a power transformer.

The little yellow box is a film capacitor.

If replacing the board and the igniter didn’t fix it, you eliminated two components.

i don’t know the oklahoma joe product. Sometimes problems are caused by a grounding issue or other connection issue off-board, so, check the auger motor connections?

Blowing the fuse means too much current was drawn, which is usually because something is shorted, but it could be that one of the, ah, I’m assuming triacs in that row of three black components, shorted out because the thing it controls power for was behaving badly.

Some components normally fail open-circuit, some fail to a dead short.

If it blew when the auger started, I would think something with the auger control is a possible issue. If it’s jammed, it would take more current to turn and that could blow the fuse.
